LU on iPhone
The short version: a phone app for Android and iPhone is in the works. There is no release date yet, and there is nothing to download today. This page says what the app is being built to do, and what already works on an iPhone right now.
What the App Is Being Built to Do
- Run models on the phone itself, offline.
- Keep your chats on the device.
- Answer questions about your documents.
- Work as a remote for your own PC that runs Locally Uncensored.
- Let you sign in if you have an account.
How well a model runs depends on the memory of the phone. We name no speeds and no supported devices before the app has been measured on real hardware.
What Works on iPhone Today
Your PC as the engine, your phone as the remote. Locally Uncensored on a desktop has Remote Access. Your phone opens a passcode protected web app in its browser, on home Wi-Fi or from anywhere through a tunnel, and the desktop does the compute. Setup is on the Remote Access page, and the longer walk through is Local AI on your phone.
Looking for Android?
The same app is in the works for Android. See LU on Android. The desktop app is on the home page.
FAQ
Is there a Locally Uncensored app for iPhone?
Not yet. A phone app for Android and iPhone is in the works, and there is no release date yet.
Can I use Locally Uncensored on an iPhone today?
Yes, in two ways. With Remote Access your phone is the remote for your own PC, which does the compute. Without a PC, the hosted side opens in the phone's browser.
Will the app run models on the phone itself?
That is what it is being built to do: models on the device, offline, with chats kept on the device. How well it runs depends on the memory of the phone.
